PARASITOLOGY, HEALTH AND DEVELOPMENT (SPHD)

The mission of Section for Parasitology, Health and Development (SPHD) is to contribute to improved health in humans and animals through control of parasitic diseases globally.

SPHD is recognised internationally for its core research competence concerning parasitic diseases. Control of parasitic diseases is supported through cross-disciplinary and intersectoral approaches to research for health and ranges from basic and molecular parasitology over environmental and social sciences to health systems. The SPHD research provides a strong basis for its programs within education, capacity building and knowledge management.
