Center for Infection and Inflammation
|
Center for Infection and Inflammation Research (CIIR) at Faculty of Life Sciences, University of Copenhagen (KU LIFE) joins together activities in the field of infection biology, immunity and inflammation.
The active members of the center represent biologists, medicals, veterinarians, and other researchers from the disciplines of genetics, bacteriology, parasitology and immunology and the research groups comprises members from a number of research institutions.
We aim at:
Creating a scientific environment of highest international standard in the area of infection and inflammation research.
This includes reinforcing existing scientific activities and recruiting new research groups in the area particularly at the junior faculty level.
Providing an outstanding education in these disciplines.
Faculty of LIFE Sciences has a well established and essential role in the present teaching of infection and inflammation. CIIR will further reinforce this commitment focusing on PhD and post-doctoral tutoring.
Developing technology platforms of special relevance for the targeted disciplines.
To optimize conditions for the individual research groups, CIIR will aim at providing technology infrastructure at the highest possible level in the areas related to infection and inflammation research with special attention on flow cytometry and bioimaging platforms.
